Tejon Ranch Conservancy Staff Get Certified for Wilderness First Aid

June 01, 2010

Recently, staff members of the Tejon Ranch Conservancy earned certification in Wilderness First Aid  to better serve the public who they host on the ranch on backcountry hikes and explorations. The hands-on training, included simulated accident response exercises in the field, practicing treating emergencies such as broken limbs, spinal injuries, bee stings, rattle snake bites, hypothermia and shock.

Tom Maloney, Mike White, Lauren di Scipio, Jennifer Browne and Chris Niemela participated in the two-day class, along with Tejon Ranch Company staff. The WFA certification course was taught by Matt May of Blue Sky Wilderness Guides of Ventura, California. www.blueskywilderness.com
